Privacy policy
This policy covers how information is handled on HakoTools ("this site"). Two very different things are involved and they are described separately: the data you put into a tool, and what third-party advertising and analytics services collect while you are on the page.
This page is an English version of the Japanese original. Where the two are read differently, the Japanese text governs.
The data you enter
Everything you type into a tool, and every file you give one, is processed in your browser. It is not transmitted to or stored on this site's servers, and the operator has no way to see it.
This is a property of the code, not an operating promise. A tool's calculation happens in the JavaScript delivered with the page, and your values live as variables in browser memory. Sending them anywhere would require a network call such asfetch orXMLHttpRequest, and the tools contain none. There is no route out.
Tools that handle images and PDFs work the same way. The file is read through the File API, processed on your device with Canvas or WebAssembly, and returned to you as a download. Its contents never reach the network.
What you entered is discarded from memory when you close or reload the page. If you want to verify this, open your browser's developer tools, keep the network tab visible, and use a tool: no request carrying your data appears.
There is one exception, and it stores no data of yours. If you mark a tool as a favourite, the list of tool identifiers (the short names that appear in the URL) is saved to your browser's localStorage so the list survives until your next visit. Only those names are stored, never any value or file. It stays on your device, is never transmitted, and disappears if you unmark the tool or clear your browsing data.
Advertising
This site may serve third-party advertising through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your interests, and may collect information about your visits to this and other sites in order to do so. That information does not include your name, address or email address.
You can turn personalised advertising off at any time throughGoogle's ad settings, and opt out of a wider set of providers ataboutads.info. Google's own description of the data involved is inAdvertising - Policies and Terms - Google.
It is worth stating what is not collected. Ad providers receive the URL of the page you viewed and information about your device and browser. They do not receiveanything you entered into a tool: as described above, that data never leaves the page, so the advertising scripts cannot read it either.
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent message appears before advertising and measurement cookies are used, and they are used only within the consent you give. You can change or withdraw that consent at any time from the same message. Declining does not restrict the tools: you see non-personalised ads and everything else works as normal.
Analytics
This site may use Google Analytics (GA4), which sets cookies to collect traffic data. The data is collected in aggregate and does not identify you.
What is collected: the URL of the page viewed, the referrer (a search engine or social site, for example), an approximate region, device type and browser, time on page, and the number of times a tool completed its job. That last one exists so that effort goes to the tools people actually finish using; what it records is the tool's identifier and the fact that it completed. No entered value or file content is sent.
To opt out, disable cookies in your browser or install Google'sGoogle Analytics opt-out add-on.
Server logs
The site is hosted and delivered by Cloudflare Pages. As with any website, serving a page records an entry in the platform's access logs: IP address, timestamp, the URL requested and the user agent. This information is technically necessary to deliver the response and is used for abuse detection and keeping the site running.
These logs are handled by Cloudflare's infrastructure and are not consulted in order to identify individual visitors. They contain nothing you entered into a tool. Cloudflare's handling of this data is described inCloudflare's privacy policy.
Retention and disclosure
This site has no mechanism for collecting names, addresses, telephone numbers or email addresses, and stores no visitor data on its own servers. There is therefore no retention period for data held by the operator. Data collected by Google Analytics and Google AdSense is retained according to those services' own terms.
Information obtained by the operator is never sold or passed to third parties, except where disclosure is required by law.
If you write in through the contact form, which is a Google Form, what you send is used only to answer you and to improve the site. It is not used for anything else and is not passed on.
Access, correction and deletion
Because the site holds no information that identifies you, there is generally nothing to disclose or delete. Messages sent through the contact form are an exception: ask and they will be deleted. Use thecontact page. For data collected by Google, use the opt-outs above or your Google account settings.
Disclaimer
The results produced by the tools on this site are prepared with care but are not guaranteed. The operator accepts no liability for loss arising from use of this site.
