Why run tools in the browser?
Most free online converters and calculators work by uploading your file or your figures to a server you know nothing about. For a holiday photo that may not matter. For a bank statement, a signed contract or your own salary, it is a decision you are making without being asked.
These tools avoid the question entirely. The code that does the work is the code your browser already downloaded to show you the page, so there is no upload step to trust. Close the tab and the data is gone. It also means the tools keep working on a slow connection, and that we pay nothing to run them, which is why they can stay free.

- Are these tools really free?
- Yes. Every tool is free to use, with no account, no email address and no paid tier. Running costs are covered by the ads shown below the results and at the end of each explanation.
- Is anything I type or upload sent to a server?
- No. Each tool does its work in the JavaScript that runs in your browser, and there is no request that carries your input anywhere. You can confirm this yourself by opening your browser's network tab while you use a tool.
- Can I use the results commercially?
- Yes. Files and images you generate here are yours to use for any purpose, commercial or not, with no attribution required.
- Why are most of the tools in Japanese?
- HakoTools started as a Japanese site and most of its tools deal with Japanese tax and social insurance rules, which do not translate. The English section covers only the tools that work the same way anywhere.
